Welcome to our Sauk River Family of owners, ... and to newcomers as well.If you have a question about a pointing labrador puppy, started dog, or your training needs , I am here to help.
This Fall, I should be on a same - day, or next - day response time to all phone and e-mail inquiries.

My GUNDOG TRAINING PROGRAM has an opening starting in November 2010.
We are on a performance based system rather than a pay per month system. I charge by what I accomplish with your dog ... Not by time spent here.
The system of training which I have developed for starting a gundog, allows me to do much more in the early time-frame than most trainers will accomplish.
We know that our clients appreciate the value of knowing what their dog will accomplish within a cost-structure.

The video is 7 min long. Gauge actually points at about 4 min 30 seconds.I had to shoot the bird while filming. Didn't really plan on that. Had to take time to switch gun and camera hands. Made the shot which is rare for me!
Gauge, who is a very good marker, misses this mark as he heels back to me during the shot.
Gauge holds point with good control. This dog was with us for 2 months of Training. He hunts quail with his owner in his home state of Alabama.
If you like what you see in this dog, The breeding of Phoenix and Scarlet has been repeated. Pups whelped Aug 6th, 2010.
We have two females available from this breeding due to a buyer - backout. Call David or Jane if interested in owning a "sister to "Gauge"
Pups will be 7 weeks old on Sept. 23.

We have been fortunate in that our foundation dogs are clear with the exception of one carrier. I will be reinventing a way to better show all health information on the site. For now, the only carrier we have is Magic.Sauk River Retrievers will not be producing any litters this year with a chance of EIC affected dogs.
There is no need for puppy owners to worry about testing their Sauk River puppy.
